Arts Award & Artsmark

Arts Award

Arts Award is...

...a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form - from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.

Progressing through the five levels, young people get to:

  • discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in arts activities
  • experience arts events
  • develop creative and communication skills that are essential for success in 21st century life
  • explore the work of artists and craftspeople and gain insights into the professional arts world
  • gain experience and knowledge to help progress into further education and employment

YFCC and Arts Award

YFCC partners believe that Arts Award has an essential role to play in meeting our vision because it not only provides a framework to introduce children and young people to arts and culture, it also actively nurtures and measures young people’s leadership as young people progress through the levels. We see Arts Award as the backbone to the way we are developing young cultural leaders to live and work in Fenland and also to be part of the UK’s talent pipeline towards the growth of the creative industries.

Artsmark

What is the Artsmark Award?

The Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England. We support settings to develop and celebrate their commitment to arts and cultural education.

In 2015, the programme was refreshed to align with School Improvement Plans and support core EBACC and STEM priorities, giving the curriculum breadth and balance.

Why Artsmark?

  • Build young people’s confidence, character and resilience through arts and cultural education
  • Use Artsmark’s clear and flexible framework to embed creativity across your whole curriculum and use it to address school improvement priorities
  • Celebrate your long-term commitment to cultural education with pupils, parents and your local community

Who’s Artsmark for?

Artsmark is open to primary, secondary and special schools, pupil referral units, youth offending teams and sixth form colleges.

As Artsmark is an Arts Council England programme, only settings in England (including BFPO schools) are eligible to register.

Artsmark Awards

Artsmark is awarded at three levels; Silver, Gold and Platinum
